Anyone ever used this pump as a Vacuum pump for LMI bridge clamp? Is this the way to go?

DO NOT buy one of those unless you want your shop filled with oil mist!

I didn't buy that exact one but something similar and what they don't tell you is that oil mist just pours out of the exhaust port.

Look for an oil-less design and you really don't need many CFM to do what you need.

That's a venturi type vacuum generator. You need an air compressor with adequate CFM for it to work. I don't have one personally but they work fine.

I'm not sure what you mean by air compressor? Do you mean a vacuum valve setup on an air compressor or an air compressor designed for this specific purpose?

Thanks for your comments

buy one of these from McMaster Carr or the auto parts store near you:

Image

pulls 25"/hg -about the mid range of electrical pumps (23.5" to 29"/hg) and much much cheaper and quieter. less messy too. item #9963K21

as stated you really don't need monster truck force.

go green!

Any air compressor so long as it can generate enough CFM. It's a venturi vacuum generator that uses the Venturi principal to use an air stream to generate a vacuum - like magic!
